Introduction to youtube and blog
Youtube is a platform where you can present your ideas through a video while a Blog is a written information center. While presenting the contents, these two platforms has a big differences. One is a written form of presentation and the other is a video form of presentation. The similarity between these two is the contents can be presented in both written and video form according to the presenter choice. Some even collaborate both the videos and writing into their website and make the content more interesting.

About youtube
Youtube has been popular for content creators ever since google has bought the service. Google made youtube an open place for uploading videos and generate revenue through it. Taking advantage of this mechanism, people started to create unique contents of their ideas and upload it to youtube. Youtube has since been dominating the market. People love graphical presentation, thus they go to youtube for anything and everything including cat videos. Youtube is one of the biggest platform for businesses to invest into, which is one of the profitable investment for them.

About blog
Blog has been dominating the web since 1997 when the concept of weblog started. Jorn Barger is the creator of this term. This term was created as logging the web as he browsed through. This term was later shortened by a programmer Peter Merholz, later in 1999 as a blog. At these times, there were only news sites and personal blogs online. In early 2000s, according to Jesse James Garett, there were 23 blogs up and running. Since then the number of blogs has been rising every year. Today it is estimated that there are more than 500 million blogs up and running. The number has been increasing every year and will keep on doing so.

Reason to create contents

Everyone has their own reason to create contents and share it to the world. Personally, I am writing this to put my ideas here for other people to read. I get to research and learn new ideas of people and history of things that I am writing about. I am not good at writing so it also gives me a chance to learn the skill of writing. All of it while, I generate some passive income for my work. So, my opinion is that, most of the content creators create these contents to help others while helping themselves and earn extra for their work. Some create contents only for the money and fame also. Some likes to present it through a video and some through a writing. Most of them choose writing over video since they either don't have the skills and devices to make the video or writing is their best forte. Writing is simpler and easier over making a video in most cases.

What contents to create?
Depending on the ideas you have, you simply need to research and learn about it then present it either through a video or writing. Usually, content creators do what they like the most and talk about it. It can be either talking about the cat or the engineering of the nano technology. You can create anything that you have the knowledge about or you want to gain the knowledge about. In blog also, it is not only limited to just plain writing. You can also use pictures or clips to make the page interesting for the readers.

How to generate revenue?
The concept of generating revenue is the same for both services. Most of the time the content creators are using google adsense or a similar service which generates revenue through running ads in between their contents. Some of the good influencers can also earn more through affiliate marketing. They list the product they use or review those products to generate customers for the brand. For every sales they make they earn certain percent of commission through it.

What is very important for both blog and youtube success?
Both youtube and blogs has their own advantages and challenges. There are billions of youtube videos and some videos can go unwatched while there are millions of blogs and some blogs don't get traffic at all. The key lies into the way you present your contents and how you can market it. No matter what you choose to do, you need to learn a good marketing skills to get more traffic. The more traffic you gain, the more you earn.

So, youtube or blog?

The technology has made it all easier for everyone. Even the unskilled person can make a video today. All you need is a computer, internet, phone or camera. Then you are set to go. You can make a video about your personal life experiences, cats or dogs or any cute animals, technology, reviewing, crafting, refurbishing, overreacting, lecturing, gaming, animating, and even making people laugh with jokes.

Writing is the same. All you need is a computer and internet. You can write about anything you like. comedy, technology, reviews, how to guide or talking about how bad your life is comparing to riches.

At the end, it all comes down to one thing. That is the way you present your contents. No matter what kind of contents you make, whether it is a video or a writing, people will only enjoy the ones that is presented well. As long as you do not add a hate comment or dispute and the content is worth reading or watching, people will enjoy it either ways. As long as people enjoy it, you will receive motivation.

Both youtube and blog has the potential to earn you as much as you want. It's upto your ability to make the contents interesting, unlike mine, market it and make ways to earn more through it. As long as you are committed to do it, you can do it on both platforms.
