If you are thinking about upgrading RAM in your computer then you should first know what type of RAM it takes in. Some computers can support two types of RAM while most of them do not. Most computers only support one type of RAM. There are two variants of RAM, separated by their transfer speeds. They are SDR and DDR. DDR type are the most commonly used and they have different generation.

There will be a memory section in which you can click and figure out the type of RAM your computer is using. Sometimes, in some computers, task manager does not show the type of RAM you have installed in your computer due to some configuration issues. In such case, you can simply download a software called CPU-Z from cpuid. It is a system information software by cpuid.

1. Download the latest version of ZIP.ENGLISH file.
2. Extract it.
3. Open the right .exe file as your version of windows. Either x64 or x32.
4. Go to the memory section.
